Overview

  • You can trek along the hills that surround Kamakura.
  • Even the highest point is only about 180 m, so there is little climbing and descending, and beginners can enjoy it with ease.
  • We also saw international tourists enjoying the trek as an add-on to visiting Hase-dera and the Great Buddha.

After just a short climb, you can enjoy an open, sweeping view. We saw many older hikers and families with children. IMG_2843

You can see all the way toward Yokosuka and Asahina. IMG_2845

If you finish by coming down to the Shonan coast, you can enjoy both the mountains and the sea.

The area has a feel similar to Santa Monica. We never expected to come across scenery like this in Zushi.
