Replacing the Wall-Mounted Circulator

Overview

When we switched the circulator on, it only made a buzzing noise and didn’t spin at all, so we decided to replace it.

On top of that, touching the unit gave our hand a tingling shock. It seems to have been leaking current.

The old model was a TEKNOS KI-W477R.

As the replacement, we chose the TEKNOS 35 cm DC-motor wall-mounted fan with full remote control, white, KI-DC367. It cost ¥7,670.

The same model number had been discontinued, so we chose the successor to a similar product. There aren’t many options for 35 cm wall-mounted circulators. The wall hook was also a slightly different size, so we removed the existing one and installed the new hook that came with the fan.

Hayama stays relatively cool even in summer, and there are many days when you can get by without air conditioning, so a circulator is an important piece of equipment. On windless days, though, it does get hot.
