This was our first visit to the property in about a month.

Lunch

We arrived a little after noon, so we started with lunch.

We bought chicken drumettes at Create, a nearby drugstore, and grilled them on a hot sandwich plate.

The weather was lovely, and it was a really pleasant day.

Clear skies

We tried to turn our rice balls into yaki-onigiri (grilled rice balls), but they stuck to the plate.

Checking for Millipedes

We found no millipedes indoors.

Checking indoors

Outdoors, we found only one live millipede.

Last year, lots of millipedes appeared in the bathroom, but this year we didn’t see a single one.

We also found one dead millipede outdoors.

Cleaning

Moss had grown on the storm shutter casings, so we cleaned them. Attaching a bathroom-cleaning sponge to an impact driver made the job go quickly.

We also cleaned the entrance tiles. The moss probably grew during the period with little sunlight.

A Break and Other Work

It was hot, so we had ice cream during our break.

Weeds were starting to grow tall, so we cut down some thin, fast-growing trees.
