Until now I’d been using an electric chainsaw to cut the trees and branches encroaching onto the property, but because the land is sloped, managing the power cord was a real hassle.
This time I bought a Makita cordless chainsaw and took on the cutting. It runs on two 18V battery packs for a total of 36V, so it’s heavy.
The blade cuts quite well. The safety mechanism, however, is almost too safe: the main power shuts off right away. I spend a lot of time cutting to clear footing and then moving to the next spot, so this is inconvenient.
I got some photos that look great against the evening sky. In May there are few flying insects, which makes working outside pleasant.
