Current situation
There are millipede carcasses here and there. It isn’t even millipede season yet, and with this many already appearing, I have a feeling there will be a lot again this year.

In the bathroom, millipede carcasses pile up, apparently because once they get in they can’t get out.
They don’t seem to be appearing at the lintel (kamoi) in the Japanese-style room that we sealed off.
Countermeasures
We stuffed backer rod into the gaps in the window sashes and covered them with masking (curing) tape.
We cleaned the drainage ditch, which quickly fills up with debris.
To improve airflow and keep moisture from lingering, we removed the privacy boards that had been attached to the fence.
