Current Situation
Dead millipedes can be seen here and there. It is not yet the main millipede season, yet there are already this many, so we expect another mass outbreak this year.

We gathered up the dead millipedes from the Japanese-style (tatami) room.

We gathered up the dead millipedes from the LDK (living/dining/kitchen).

Here it is after vacuuming up the dead millipedes.

In the bathroom, once millipedes get in they can’t get out, so their bodies pile up.

No millipedes seem to be getting in through the gaps above the lintel (kamoi) in the Japanese-style room that we sealed earlier.

Taking Action
We filled the gaps in the window sashes with backer rod and covered them with masking tape.

We cleaned the drainage ditch, where debris tends to accumulate.

To improve airflow and keep moisture from lingering, we removed the privacy boards that had been mounted on the fence.

Before leaving, we spread insecticide around the building.
